FEATURE 06 — CALENDAR, REMINDERS & REPEATS

Events and tasks on the same page.

A paper planner shows your 11 o’clock meeting next to the three things you need to do before it. So does kata. Allow calendar access and your iPhone’s events appear first under each day — read-only, quietly, in their calendar’s own colour.

Reminders, when you ask for them.

Any task can remind you at a time you pick. When it arrives, mark it Done from the notification or ask again in an hour. A morning note of your day is there if you switch it on — and kata never notifies you about anything you didn’t ask for.

Repeats that understand weeks.

Daily, weekdays, weekly on chosen days, monthly — even “the last Friday” — yearly, or “every 3 days after I finish”. Repeating tasks show a ↻ on the page and count once for each day they fall on. Missed days don’t pile up, and skipping one takes it out of the score.

Times, written naturally.

Type “dentist thursday at 1pm” and kata proposes the day and the time under the title; tap away anything it got wrong. Each day keeps the order you drag it into — or set Order to Automatic in Settings, and priority work rises to the top with timed tasks after it, by the clock.

The details

Any calendar on your iPhone
iCloud, Google, Exchange — if it is in the Calendar app, kata can show it. Choose which calendars appear in Settings.
Read-only, by design
kata shows events; it never edits them, and they never count toward your score. Tap one to open its day in Calendar.
Reminders
Pick a time on the wheel and the task reminds you then. The notification offers Done and In an hour.
Repeats
Daily, weekdays, weekly on chosen days, monthly — even “the last Friday” — yearly, or a fixed interval after you finish.
Times in quick add
“friday at 9am”, “tomorrow at 3pm”, “in 3 days” — written naturally, and shown under the title so you can tap away anything it got wrong.
Quiet by default
No morning note unless you switch it on, no streak nagging, no “you haven’t opened kata” notifications. Only what you asked for.

Questions about calendar and reminders

Can I turn an event into a task?

No. Events stay read-only; tap one to open its day in Calendar.

Does kata sync my tasks to Apple Reminders?

No. kata keeps tasks in its own database, synced through your own iCloud, so projects, headings and the execution score work.

Will I get a notification for every task?

Only for tasks where you set a reminder, and the morning note if you switch it on. Scheduling a task on a day does not create a notification.
